Meet Our Instructors

Michelle Riveland, Director

Michelle was born and raised in New York state with a passion for music and business. She began piano, violin and flute at a young age and also enjoyed competing in dance competitions and performing in local plays and musicals. She specializes in Suzuki orchestral and piano lessons with over 10 years of teaching experience. In addition to piano and orchestral instruments, she also enjoys teaching guitar, ukulele, percussion, voice, musical theater performance, group rhythm classes and music theory.

Michelle is a firm believer that anyone can learn to play music as long as they have the passion and commitment for it, she has no restrictions of ages she will teach and has started children as young as 2 on piano and 3 on violin! As a violinist for 20 years, she has performed in numerous symphonies and concerts in New York before moving to Grand Forks ND and performing in the Grand Forks Symphony. Michelle was a music instructor for Arioso Music Academy Grand Forks, performed with a local dance group, and was an adjudicator for various local music competitions before moving to Bismarck. She now performs in the Bismarck Mandan Symphony Orchestra and is excited to bring more music education opportunities to the BisMan area!

Ashley Woehl, Sales & Service Manager

Ashley is a native of North Dakota and was raised on a farm in small town North Dakota. As a young child, Ashley was diagnosed with Epilepsy at age 3 and was prescribed music as therapy. Ashleys mother, Robin Riveland, was determined to help her daughter in any way she could and began managing a local music store and later opened Arioso Music Academy of Grand Forks in 2008. Ashley began playing piano at a very young age and later added the clarinet as another musical skill!

Ashley enjoyed playing piano, but quickly realized she enjoyed teaching piano even more than playing and began teaching piano at the young age of 15. Ashley later moved to Bismarck and has taught private piano lessons here ever since. She is dedicated to helping students use music to increase their cognitive, emotional, social, language, and developmental skills. Ashley teaches music theory, piano, and young children's group music classes.

Janna Marie, Music Instructor

Janna Marie is a North Dakota native with a passion for music and teaching children. In addition to teaching at Arioso, she currently works part time as a Speech Language Pathologist. Her various teaching experiences have included facilitating speech-language development skills, Sylvan tutoring in the areas of reading and math, and also instructing piano lessons at Arioso Music Academy in Grand Forks. Janna Marie currently teaches the group rhythm and music classes as well as private piano, percussion, ukulele, and brass lessons.

Janna Marie is passionate about providing music education to students of all abilities and specializes in instructing students with special needs and disabilities, including a group music class for students with autism, and private music lessons for students with immobility and/or speech impediments. Janna Marie played trumpet and sang soprano in high school and had the privilege of taking these talents to Europe via the Northern Ambassadors of Music. She was also an active member of the Twin Forks Sweet Adeline barbershop chorus during her college years. Janna Marie is a very active member of the community, you may see her performing in local musicals or even volunteering around town with her dog "Butler"!

Danika Owen, Music Instructor

Danika Owen was born and raised in North Dakota. She spent her early childhood in Carrington, ND, then moved to Horace, ND, where she graduated from West Fargo High School. She began playing piano at a young age, mainly taught by her mother. She played piano throughout her school days, accompanying choirs, vocalists, and instrumentalists for concerts and competitions. She began playing clarinet at age 10 and continued throughout high school as a member of a variety of bands.

Singing has always been another passion for Danika, whether in a choir or a musical. She was involved in several musical productions throughout her high school career. She had her first opportunity to direct a choir when she was a senior in high school, directing a few pieces for the West Fargo Varsity Choir. During high school, Danika was involved in many other music activities, including a Madrigal group, Jazz groups, All-State Choirs, and State Music Festivals. Danika was a member of the North Dakota State University Concert Choir under the direction of Dr. JoAnn Miller while she attended college from 2005-2009. Music continues to be an important part of Danika's daily life. She loves the opportunity to continue sharing music at Arioso Music Academy and specializes in Piano and Voice lessons.

Odalys Montenegro-Ramos, Music Instructor

Odalys Montenegro Ramos ("Miss. O" for short) was born and raised in Mexico. Discovering her deep passion for music at 12 years old, Ms. O taught herself piano and in order to explore other fields of music better, she picked up the cello at age 15. In her free time, Miss. O enjoys composing and hand-lettering as well as learning and practicing different languages. So far, Odalys speaks Spanish and English fluently, is proficient in Chinese Mandarin, and currently teaches herself French, German, and Latin. Currently a senior at the University of Mary, Ms. O is a double major in Marketing and Music with a concentration on the cello. At the university, Odalys is a member of the Music Student Organization (MSO), the String Ensemble, the Bismarck-Mandan Youth Symphony (BMYSO), the Prairie Winds Orff organization for music instructors, the International Student Organization (ISO), and the St. Scholastica Community. Hoping to influence others with her love and passion for music, Miss. O loves working as a music instructor at the Arioso Music Academy. Miss O is currently accepting new students for online lessons in piano and cello.
